Yorkshire In Bloom awards celebrated across the Bradford district

Over 15 places across the Bradford district are celebrating their success in this year’s Yorkshire In Bloom awards.

The district’s most successful entries were from Bradford Council’s Cliffe Castle Museum and Park and Keighley Town Hall Square which were both awarded Platinum in the Parks and Gardens category. Harold Park and Roberts Park were both awarded Gold in the same category.

Silver Gilts were awarded to Esholt in the Small Village category and Wilsden in the Small Town category which was also category winner.

Silver awards went to Shipley in the Town category and Keighley in the Large Town Category.

In the Charitable Establishments category, Northcliffe Environmental Enterprise Team (NEET) achieved a Gold award.

Airedale Shopping Centre in Keighley received Gold in the Large Business category, and both Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and Bradford Council’s Lister Park received Silver Gilt awards in the Tourist Attractions category. In the Medium Business category Abbeydale Residential Home in Ilkley gained a Gold award.

Wilsden Primary School received a Silver award in the Harrogate Flower Show Young People category and the University of Bradford gained Silver Gilt in the Universities, Colleges and FE Establishments category.

In the Discretionary Awards from Yorkshire In Bloom Airedale Shopping Centre were joint winners in the Best Commercial Entry Supporting the Community category and Northcliffe Environmental Enterprise Team (NEET) were the winner in the Best Supported Learning Project Award.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “A great amount of dedication goes into the upkeep of parks and greenspaces across the district and I’d like to congratulate all those who have played any part however small in all of the entries for this year’s Yorkshire In Bloom awards.”
