The Bradford district to pay its respects at the annual Festival of Remembrance

Bradford will pay its respects to those who lost their lives in conflicts around the world at a special annual Festival of Remembrance.

The district’s 77th annual Festival of Remembrance will take place on Sunday 5 November at Bradford Cathedral at 5pm. It will be attended by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Bradford and other Civic dignitaries, and supported by the City of Bradford Brass Band and the Bradford Cathedral Choir.

The festival will begin with a welcome from the Dean of Bradford and the Lord Mayor, and community singing, ahead of the Service of Remembrance.

Doors will open at 4:30pm and guests are asked to arrive ready to be seated by 4:50pm. Please be aware that seats are limited, and some seats may have views restricted by the pillars of the Cathedral. The event is free but please book your tickets at http://festival-remembrance.eventbrite.co.uk/

The Lord Mayor of Bradford Cllr Gerry Barker, said: “This is a special event and I hope people will come and join us to remember all those who have lost their lives, been wounded, have suffered or are still suffering in any way, due to past and present conflicts around the world.”
