Local Requirements - Energy Statement

Types of application or development that require this information 

• New buildings with a floor space of 1,000 square metres or more.
• Residential developments providing 10 or more residential units.
• Residential sites of 0.5 hectares or more (where the number of units is not specified).
• Any development on a site of 1 hectare or more.

What information is required?

An Energy Statement that details how it is proposed the scheme will prioritise the environment by considering opportunities to integrate renewable energy and achieve low carbon development is required.

The Energy Statement should form part of the Design and Access Statement (DAS) and where appropriate a technical report should be included as an Appendix to the DAS.
