Landfill sites

When considering development or re-development of a site the proximity of historical and operational landfill sites should be taken into consideration to ensure the site is suitable for the new use.  The Planning Department holds records for historical and operational landfill sites across the District, which can be viewed on our landfill sites map.

The information includes small scale activities and activities that may not have had the benefit of planning permission from as early as the 1970s, so the information held may be quite limited.  Information on operational and historic landfill sites is also be available from the Environment Agency.
