Standing as a candidate

The next local elections in Bradford are taking place on 2 May 2024.

If you would like to stand as a candidate at an election, or be an agent for a candidate, the Electoral Commission have produced guidance for candidates and agents on how to follow the rules and help you comply with the law.

Please see the Electoral Commission website for more information.

Further information about becoming a candidate at the elections is also available from: GOV.UK: Become a councillor

To stand as a candidate, you will need to complete a set of nomination papers for the electoral area you are wanting to represent. These will be available from Electoral Services in February 2024.
