Bradford City Centre Area Action Plan
2. Publication Draft (December 2015)
What is the Bradford City Centre Area Action Plan (BCCAAP)?
The Bradford City Centre Area Action Plan (BCCAAP) is being prepared by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council as part of the Local Plan for Bradford.
The Area Action Plan will guide the transformation of the city centre regeneration area up to 2028. It will identify the location of new development and provide detailed policies to help make decisions on planning applications. It will also influence decisions about transport, infrastructure, community facilities, economic development and future investment.
Publication Draft
Following consultation on the Further Issues and Options between March and May in 2013, a Publication Draft version of the AAP has been prepared for submission to government for independent examination. The Publication Draft outlines the vision and strategic objectives of the Plan along with the key development proposals and policies which will be applied in planning decision making.
The Plan is also extensively supported by a range of technical evidence base studies which will also be considered during the independent examination.
The Publication Draft consultation documents can be accessed from the bottom of the page.
Public Consultation AAP Publication Draft (December 2015 to February 2016)
The Publication Draft was published for public consultation over an 8 week period from Monday 14th December and ending 1.00pm on Monday 8th February 2016.
The public consultation on the AAP Publication Draft has now closed.
What happens next?
After the Publication Draft stage the Council will consider the comments received and consider whether any modifications need to be made to the plan before submitting the AAP to the Government. The AAP will then be considered by an independent Inspector at a public examination. The Inspector's role is to consider whether the plan can be considered to be sound having regard to a number of factors including the plans compliance with national planning policy. The Examination process may result in a judgement that the plan would be sound, subject to a number of modifications being made. If modifications are necessary these would be published by the Council and subject to consultation before adopting the AAP through a meeting of the Full Council.
