Allocations DPD
3. Green Belt Review Draft Methodology
Emerging Local Plan
The Allocations DPD is a key Local Plan document. It will allocate land to meet the District's needs over the plan period for new homes, and will identify sites for gypsies and travellers, sites for business and industry, and sites for infrastructure and community uses such as schools and road improvements. It will also identify which greenspaces will be protected and enhanced.
In order to deliver the strategic policies within the Core Strategy (currently under review through the Core Strategy Partial Review), the Council is undertaking a selective review of the District's Green Belt.
One of the aims of the Green Belt Review is to assess the District's Green Belt against the five purposes set out in national planning policy.
It is important to note that the final Green Belt Review report will not identify land for release or development. The findings from the report will form a key part of the evidence base and will be used alongside a range of other pieces of evidence in the allocation of sites in the Allocations DPD.
