Information about working on elections

To register your interest for working at the elections, please complete our online application form.

We will contact you if a suitable position becomes available.

All election duties are subject to statutory secrecy requirements. Anyone who is or has carried out duties on behalf of any political party or candidate at the election is not permitted to be employed.

There are various casual roles at the elections:

Polling stations

Presiding Officers and Poll Clerks are employed to administer the elections at polling stations across the Bradford district.

The count

The election counts usually take place at Sedbergh Sports Centre in Bradford and Keighley Leisure Centre. Staff are employed to assist in the counting of ballot papers and processing of election materials.

Processing postal votes

Staff are employed to assist with the opening and processing of returned postal voting ballot packs.
