Adventure Development Unit
The Adventure team provide a full range of outdoor learning and adventurous activities for schools, youth groups and community organisations.
A range of adventure courses are also available for individuals and families to book in school holidays.
Based at Baildon Recreation Centre, we have a fully mobile resource of specialist instructors delivering activities on school sites, in local parks and open countryside areas, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond:
- Rock climbing and abseiling.
- Caving and gorge scrambling.
- Mountain biking.
- Hill walking and orienteering.
- Bush craft
- Problem solving and group initiative tasks ideal for school sites.
- A mobile climbing tower for school events and community galas.
- Outdoor learning linked to subject areas.
- Residential programmes using youth hostels and Dales barns.
- Camps, expeditions and Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
In addition to the above mobile resources we have a specialist water activities and adventure centre at Doe Park Water Activities Centre.

Safety
The Adventure Activities Development Unit Adventure Activities License for climbing, abseiling, gorge scrambling, caving, mountain walking, kayaking, open canoeing and raft building.
We also hold the Learning Outside the Classroom and Adventure Mark Quality Badge.
