
Procurement Act 2023: Information and guidance for suppliers
On 24 February 2025, the rules that shape how public bodies buy goods, works and services changed.
The Procurement Act 2023 introduced measures to improve and streamline the way procurement is done and benefit prospective suppliers of all sizes, particularly small businesses, start-ups and social enterprises.

Training opportunities
Cabinet Office has run two free webinars for suppliers and other interested parties.
Cabinet Office recorded the sessions and made a recording available via its webpages on GOV.UK for those unable to attend.
Procurements started and contracts awarded under existing regulations
Existing legislation will apply to any procurements started under the old rules. All new procurements started on 24 February 2025 onwards will fall under the new legislation. The existing public procurement rules will continue to apply for contracts that are already in progress and for procurements started under the current regime.
