RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

Bradford Aquatics run National Pool Lifeguard Qualifications courses throughout the year.

This is a nationally recognised qualification in the leisure industry for swimming pool lifeguards. It provides skills in swimming pool supervision, intervention and rescue, first aid and resuscitation.

Pre-requisites

Be 16 or over on the date of the assessment.
Jump and dive into deep water.
Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds (demonstrating a recognised stroke).
To swim continuously 100m on front and 100m on back.
In deep water, tread water for 30 seconds.
Surface dive to the floor of the pool (12 foot 6 inches) without hearing or ear problems.
Climb out of the pool unaided without using a ladder or steps where the pool design permits.

To guarantee your place, you will need to show us these skills during a short assessment. This will take place from two to four weeks before the start of the course. We recommend that you practice these skills before you are assessed.
