Renovation work transforms The Good Shepherd Centre community hall

Major renovation work has transformed a charitable community organisation in Keighley, following a £140,000 grant from the Government’s Keighley Towns Fund.

The Good Shepherd Centre, based at Presbytery House on West Lane, welcomed over 130 guests and supporters to unveil the results of the work, which started in January of this year.

A specialist family-run fabrics business is re-shoring production at its Keighley factory, following investment including a £94,238 grant from the Keighley Towns Fund.

Invent Interior Solutions Ltd, based on Dalton Lane, is a second-generation family-run business manufacturing specialist fabrics for the window blind market.

Electro-mechanical manufacturer set for continued success

A long-established electro-mechanical manufacturer based in Keighley has received a grant from the Keighley Towns Fund to upgrade its equipment.

NSF Controls, based at Ingrow Bridge Works are specialists in the bespoke design and manufacture of solenoids, switches, and electro-mechanical services, producing over a million components a year for a global market.

Major milestone for Keighley’s new industrial heartland

Building work on Keighley College’s brand-new manufacturing and engineering hub has been completed.

The project is part of the wider, £12 million creation of Providence Park, a new industrial site being built on the former Universal Mills plot on the corner of Dalton Lane and Bradford Road.

Keighley glazing firm sees continued growth

A glazing firm in Keighley has created five new jobs as part of its expansion, which was funded in part by the Keighley Towns Fund.

Marlin Windows is a family-owned business founded in 2003, which manufactures aluminium glazing systems and they received £30,938.79 from the towns fund to expand their premises.

Haworth public toilets now fully upgraded

The second phase of work to fully upgrade the public toilets in the historic village of Haworth has now been completed.

The Keighley Towns Fund initially allocated £130,000 to refurbish the men’s and women’s toilets respectively on West Lane near the Bronte Parsonage Museum

Second section of work underway on The Twines

28 January 2025

Further work to repair an historic ‘cobbled’ street is underway, thanks to a £40k boost from the Keighley Towns Fund.

Thwaites Brow Road, known locally as ‘The Twines,’ is paved with setts – square or rectangular quarried stones. But in some areas these stones are in a poor condition, and work to complete the next phase of repairs will now start, after initial improvement work in early 2024.

Upgraded ‘Worth Way Walk’ footpath is launched

20 January 2025

A recently-upgraded historic footpath along the River Worth was officially launched on Wednesday last week, following funding from Keighley Towns Fund and Keighley Big Local.

Local environment charity the Aire River Trust, used the £56,312 grant from the towns fund, and £20,000 of funding from Big Local to resurface the Worth Way Walk. The 11-mile national trail connects Low Mill Lane to Woodhouse Road along the river through Keighley to Oxenhope.

Apprenticeship created at growing Keighley glazing firm

A glazing manufacturer and installer based in Keighley has created a new job opportunity following a grant from the Keighley Town’s Fund.

Aire-Valley Architectural (Aluminium) Ltd, of Parkwood Street, received the £6,540 grant from the towns fund’s Capital Allowance to Business Growth Programme.

Keighley Community Building Transformed

Major work has been completed to transform a community organisation in Keighley, after a year of renovations to the building.

The Sangat Centre received £230,000 from the government-funded Keighley Towns Fund for essential refurbishments to its Marlborough Street premises, with £140,000 of match funding from the Community Ownership Fund.
