Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) explains how parties with an interest in planning issues in the District can engage with the planning system. Essentially it sets out who, when and how the authority will consult when developing new planning policy and processing planning applications.
The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC) is the responsible authority for the preparation of planning policy documents, principally the Local Plan (plan making) and the determination of planning applications (development management). The opportunity for the community to be involved with both these aspects is an essential part of good planning.
Planning consultation website
To support community and stakeholder engagement with local plan preparations, Bradford Council now publishes consultation documents on the planning policy consultation website provided by OpusConsult. The system enables users to read consultation documents and submit direct responses to relevant sections of the plan.
Any person or organisation can register to use the consultation website at any time. By registering, your contact details will be added to the contact database and will only be used to inform you about the progress of the plan or other planning policy consultations. Your details will not be shared with any other parties and you are able to delete your details at any point.

The Local Plan Team produces regular e-bulletin newsletters designed to keep our interested parties up to date with the progress of the Local Plan for Bradford.
