06 Examination (March 2015)
Latest news
28 March - The Council received a letter from Gavin Barwell Minister of State (Housing and Planning) on 28th March 2017 notifying it that the Holding Direction issued by him on 10 October 2016 preventing the adoption of the Core Strategy has now been withdrawn. The Council will now look to take the Core Strategy Inspectors Report forward for consideration at the earliest available meeting of Executive and Full Council.
5 September - The Inspector has finalised his report into the Core Strategy and this was received by the Council on 22nd August 2016. The Council has published the Inspector's Report and Appendix in accordance with Regulation 25 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
About the examination
The Council submitted the Core Strategy Publication Draft to the Secretary of State, for public examination by an independent Planning Inspector, on Friday 12 December 2014.

The Inspector
Stephen J Pratt BA (Hons) MRTPI has been appointed to undertake an independent examination into the soundness of the Core Strategy and to subsequently issue a report with his conclusions.
The Programme Officer

The hearings
The Inspector held a series of hearings as part of the Examination process and these ran from Wednesday 4 March until Friday 20 March 2015 at Victoria Hall, Victoria Road, Saltaire. Agendas and participant lists for the further hearings commencing on 17 May have been added to the Examination library as items PS/H004a and PS/H004b.
