Property grants
The property grant scheme seeks to:
- Unlock investment into historic buildings
- Enhance the streetscape
- Support the local economy and community
Eligibility
Thanks to the support of Historic England, Bradford launched its first Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) in late 2024. The HAZ is located in the historic heart of the city centre, including the magnificent Bradford City Hall.
Properties within the property grant scheme boundary, highlighted on the map above, are eligible for grant funding. Different levels of funding are available and this will be determined on a case by case basis.
The current priority for property grant funding is shopfronts on Ivegate.
Why Ivegate?
Cutting through the heart of the city centre, targeting investment at shopfronts along our most historic high-street promises a unique opportunity to transform the streetscape on a larger scale. This would benefit the local community as well as numerous shopkeepers and the local economy.
If you are a building owner, landlord, or long-term tenant within the property grant scheme boundary, we invite you to please get in touch with us to discuss whether we can support you.
What does the funding support?
Funding is able to support activities such as:
- Feasibility studies
- Architectural Investigations
- Design work and costings
- Restoration and repair works
Detailed information on eligibility for Historic England funding can be found here.
Am I eligible for property grant support?
You may be eligible if:
- The property is located within the boundary area
- The property is in need of restoration, repair, or improvement works. (This does not include business equipment).
Please note the current funding priority is for shopfronts on Ivegate.
If the answer to a and b is yes, please fill in an Expression of Interest form (form pending - please send an email to [email protected] if you are interested). This does not guarantee support.
