Property in disrepair discount

If your property is unoccupied and unfurnished, and undergoing major structural repairs, you may qualify for a discount.

Eligible works include

• Rebuilding or demolishing loadbearing walls (including chimneys)
• Replacing roof timbers or a large number of roof tiles/slates
• Replacing door/window lintels, floor joists, or floorboards
• Re-concreting substantial parts of rooms
• Replacing or moving staircases

Not eligible

• Modernisation
• Plastering
• Rewiring
• Installing kitchens or bathrooms.

Discounts available

• 100% discount for 1 month from the start of works
• 0% discount for up to 11 more months (you pay full Council Tax, but no empty property premium)
