Care leavers - Council Tax exemption

From 1 April 2022, young people who were looked after by Bradford Council when they turned 18 are exempt from paying Council Tax until the end of the financial year in which they turn 25.

This exemption applies only to care leavers supported by Bradford Council. If you were a care leaver before 1 April 2022, different rules may apply.

To apply, you must contact your Through Care Key Worker who will then apply directly to us on your behalf.
