From 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027
You can pay by debit card.
Please note that no charge will be made for a normal burial of children from 24 week gestation up to the age of 17 years as Bradford Council will reclaim the charges from the Government's Children's Funeral Fund.
Exclusive Rights of Burial charges are applicable for children under 24 weeks' gestation.
Options vary at each cemetery. Please check with Bereavement Services.

Cemeteries
Grants of Right with imminent interment
This category applies where a burial is expected to take place within six weeks of the date of purchase.
“Imminent interment” refers to any situation in which funeral arrangements are planned or anticipated in the near term, and the grave is being purchased specifically for that forthcoming burial.
Requests falling outside this six-week period maybe treated as Advance Grant of Exclusive Right of Burial (Future, Non Imminent Use)and charged at the corresponding rate. The Council may also require appropriate supporting information to verify that a burial is planned.

Advance Grant of Exclusive Right of Burial (Future, Non-Immiment Use)
This option is available only when no burial is expected within the next six weeks.
It is intended for individuals wishing to secure a grave space for future planning, not for any situation where a funeral is forthcoming.

* It is not possible to excavate to these depths in all cemetery sections because of ground conditions. In some cemeteries graves will only be sold for opening to maximum 6ft (grave for two). Please note that it may not be possible to excavate graves over 4ft 6" deep at Haworth and Silsden Cemeteries.
Saturday burials
Saturday burials only by arrangement with the Senior Bereavement Services Officer or Bereavement Services Manager. If sufficient members of staff are available to provide the service.
Additional charges
Additional charges for walling earth grave to surface for which exclusive right of burial have been granted. This charge must be made in conjunction with the interment fee.

A burial will be accepted at short notice if all the documentation is produced with immediate effect and if it is possible to facilitate the request, bearing in mind the existing workload. The additional charge for short notice is 50% of interment charge. This fee will apply to
- less than 72 hours' notice for a lined grave
- less than 48 hours' notice for an earth grave
- less than 24 hours' notice for a cremated remains grave.
Memorials
Funeral Directors should arrange for a Monumental Mason to undertake all work on memorials, Headstones, Border Stones removal only (excluding liability).

Out of district
- An additional 50% of the interment fee will be charged if the person to be interred has not previously been a resident of the Bradford District.
- An additional 50% of the Exclusive Right fee will be charged for a new grave unless the deceased has been a resident of the Bradford District.
- If within 2 years the owner of the Exclusive right requests a transfer of ownership to someone living outside the District, the additional charge will be payable in addition to the fee for endorsement of the transfer.
Note: The facilities shown are not available at all cemeteries and crematoria.
Where the headstone exceeds the maximum permitted height, breadth or width, the fee for the grant of rights will be double the list price.
VAT will be charged on all exhumations.
