The initial information mentions recreational activities but none of the 10 points refers to this aspect, talking about arts, culture and heritage. Could you clarify please

The main focus of the grant programme are organisations with the primary objective of delivering cultural and/or sport activities. Recreational activities may fit in however cultural organisations are likely to be unsuccessful if they cannot meet any of the aims in ‘Culture Is Our Plan’. Sports organisations are not expected to meet these aims. (11/12/25)

Is this aimed at new capital builds or can it be used for existing buildings / projects? I know it says it can in the guidance but just wondered if it was more aimed at brand new / in progress projects?

The funding can be used for both new and existing/in progress projects/buildings. If not new, please be clear how the funding would provide additionality to the project. (11/12/25)

Can digital infrastructure be considered as capital?

It depends on the specifics, for example cloud based is not classed as capital. (11/12/25)

Do you need to supply any plans with the application?

If the application is for, for example, building work that has yet to take place, please include if applicable approved planning application, plans or anything else that will support your application. (11/12/25)

What if we cannot get three quotes for an item?

Please include an explanation for why it is impossible to get more than one quote, and any other information that would support the explanation. (11/12/25)

Are any sports clubs who are limited companies eligible or do they have to be a CIC or charity for Bradford council. What are the general rules for organisation applications?

Any type of organisation can apply as long as they meet the criteria, and their main objectives are delivering cultural and/or sporting activities. (11/12/25)

Can schools apply for the grant?

No, organisations’ main objectives as per the guidance must to be to deliver cultural and/or sport activities. (11/12/25)

Can I apply for funding to deliver events?

Events would normally mostly be revenue funding, this programme only has capital available. (11/12/25)

We are a charity operating out of a council building, would we be eligible? The funding would benefit the activities we run

Yes if the same organisation has separate items/activity/projects they want to apply for funding for, they can be included in the same application. We recommend making it clear what the separate costs/quotes are. (17/12/25)

We have a BD postcode but do not come under Bradford Council. Are we eligible for the grant?

No, the organisation has to come under Bradford Council to be eligible. There are certain LS post codes that come under Bradford Council, these would be eligible. (17/12/25)
