Bookstart is the national programme that encourages all parents and carers to enjoy books with children from as early an age as possible.

We do this by gifting free book packs at around 7-9 months and 4 years.

When your baby, toddler or pre-schooler becomes a member of Bradford Libraries they will be able to register on the Bookstart Bear Club.

You will get a pack, complete with a passport, door hanger, bookmark and membership certificate.

Each time you attend a story or rhyme time or take out books or a DVD, you can have a paw print stamped in your passport.

On your sixth stamp you will get a certificate. With your first certificate you will also get a voucher for a free loan of a DVD.

With your second certificate you will get a voucher for a free parent and under 5’s swim at any of Bradford Council's swimming pools.

With your fifth you will be given a Bookstart teddy bear!*

With your sixth, a touchy/feely book.*

With your ninth a canvas book bag and your tenth a picture book.*

*while stocks last

When you get your tenth paw print you will have completed your Bookstart Bear Club Passport!
