#HAF2024 Summer of Fun

 

Our teams will be out and about over the summer holidays visiting 12 different local parks and green spaces providing Free fun activities for children and young people.

Activities will run from 11am to 3pm and will include sports inflatables, sports games and coaching, climbing tower, dance sessions, arts and crafts, adventure play, giant games and lots more. The Bradford Stories Literacy Bus will also be at all dates except 4 August at Wyke.

The activities are aimed at 5 to 14-year-olds and are Free for all.

Free, healthy packed lunches will be available, subject to availability, for children aged 5-14 years who are on benefits-related free school meals.

All children must register their name and school on arrival.

Wear casual clothing according to the weather. We suggest trainers are the best footwear.

No need to book, just turn up and play!

Parents are responsible for the supervision of their own children.

The HAF parks events have been funded by the Department for Education as part of the Holiday Activities and Food programme.

They are also supported by JU:MP which aims to create a happy and healthy North Bradford where children, young people and families choose to move and play more!

Frequently asked questions

Are the sessions only for children on free school meals?

No. The events are open to all children, everyone is welcome.

However, only children who receive benefits-related free school meals will be eligible for a free lunch.

Do sessions need to be booked?

No, this is an open event, just turn up.

How long can children take part in the activities?

The activities are open to the public from 11am to 3pm. Children can join in any time. Some activities may have set sessions lasting up to an hour. Session times will be advertised on site.

Do children need to be supervised?

Parents are responsible for the supervision of their own children. Some children may attend with an organised youth group accompanied by responsible adult leaders.

What should children wear?

Casual clothing suitable for the weather. Trainers are the best footwear.

Is there a registration process?

All children have to register their name and school attended on arrival

Will events go ahead whatever the weather?

Events may be cancelled due to safety concerns in the event of extreme weather such as heavy rain, high winds and lightning. Cancellations will be reported on our social media so please follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram - @bradfordmdc.
