The Government's website provides advice ranging from benefits and job opportunities to funeral expenses and education and learning. Many applications can be submitted online through this site such as for car tax.
Depending on your current financial circumstances you may be entitled to some of the following benefits:
- Benefits and financial support if you're looking for work - help if you're looking for a new job, are out of work or affected by redundancy.
- Benefits and financial support if you're temporarily unable to work - help if you're unable to work.
- Benefits and financial support for families - help if you look after children or plan to have or adopt a child.
- Benefits and financial support if you're disabled or have a health condition - help if you're living with a health condition or disability or have sustained a work related injury including whilst serving in the armed forces.
- Benefits and financial support if you're caring for someone - help if you regularly spend time caring for someone.
- Benefits and financial support if you're on a low income - help with heating, housing and other living costs.
- Benefits and financial support when someone dies - help with costs and funeral expenses after someone has died including information on how to claim War Widow(er) Pension.

Bradford Council benefits
If you are struggling financially you may be entitled to certain benefits:
- Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction – for help with paying for rent and Council Tax
- Discretionary Housing Payments – for those struggling with housing costs; you must be in receipt of Housing Benefit or the Housing element of Universal Credit to apply
- Assisted Purchase Scheme – to help with buying second hand items, for example furniture or white goods; available to people who are both: in receipt of certain benefits and experiencing particular difficulties.
- Free School Meals – support with school meals for those on low incomes and those in receipt of certain benefits

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
The Citizens Advice service offers practical, up-to-date information and advice on a wide range of topics, including; debt, benefits, housing, legal, discrimination, employment, immigration, consumer and other problems.
