Sign up to the garden waste collection service
The garden waste collection service is an annual service and is an easy way for you to get rid of your garden waste without having to take it to your local household waste recycling centre yourself. If you want to have your garden waste collected from your home, you need to subscribe to the service.
About the service
- The service runs from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2025
- The annual subscription is £53
- If you need an extra brown bin this will cost £40 per year
- The subscription is payable in full, in advance and is non-refundable
- You will get 12 collections, one every four weeks
- We will supply you with a 240 litre brown wheeled bin
- You need a valid bin sticker for each bin you want emptying
- There will be no garden waste collections after 20 December 2024 for four weeks. Garden waste collections will start again on 21 January 2025. Please check the website for your collection dates.

How to pay
You will need a credit or debit card to make a payment online or over the phone. This is the quickest and easiest way to pay:
- subscribe now, save time, do it online! It only takes a few minutes and you can do it at a time to suit you
- if there are no changes to your subscription, then you can renew online. If you renew online we will be able to send you a reminder email the day before each of your collections.
- alternatively, you can call 01274 437900 to subscribe or if you need extra bins

If you do not have a debit or credit card and want to pay cash
- Unfortunately we are not able to take cash payments using PayPoint at this time.
- If you have difficulty paying for the garden waste service please ask a relative or friend to do it on your behalf.
- We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
What happens next
- We will send you a licence letter and valid bin sticker to confirm you have subscribed to the service. This may take two weeks to arrive.
- If you have ordered a garden waste bin it will be delivered to you before the service starts on 1 June.
- Before your bin arrives, you can take your garden waste to the nearest HWRC.
What you need to do
- Put the bin sticker on the lid of your garden waste bin so that it is clearly visible for the crew
- Bins without a garden waste bin sticker will not be emptied
- Contaminated bins will not be emptied
- Check your collection dates online
- Put your bin out for collection by 6.30am on your collection day.
