Community Infrastructure Levy

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a levy which the Council may charge on new developments to fund infrastructure such as schools, transport, parks, open spaces and other community facilities, required to support new housing and economic development in the District.

Adoption 

The Bradford District Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule was formally approved by Full Council on 21 March 2017 and took effect from 1 July 2017.

Key stages

The following stages have taken place on the CIL:

• Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule - July to September 2015
• Draft Charging Schedule - December 2015 to February 2016
• Submission - May 2016
• Examination - May to December 2016

Examiner's report

Following the CIL examination, the Council has received the Report on the Examination of the Draft CIL Charging Schedule for the Bradford District. This report recommends that the Bradford CIL charging schedule can be adopted, subject to two modifications to meet the statutory requirements.
