The Saltaire Environmental Capacity Study was commissioned by Bradford Council to look at the potential impact of tourism, development and regeneration on the World Heritage Site.
The report, produced by Atkins Heritage, looks at the ability of the historic structure of the site to accommodate visitors, traffic, car parking, new development, change of the use of buildings, alterations to properties and spaces, and changes in the area around the village, now and in the future.
This research will inform the revision of the Saltaire World Heritage Site Management Plan. A series of Monitoring Surveys is also recommended. Bradford Council is in the process of implementing these as part of its ongoing management of the World Heritage Site.
